Membership

Membership of The Drapers’ Company, as with other City Livery Companies, comprises Freemen, Liverymen and Assistants. The Court of Assistants is the governing body.

All men and women admitted to Membership are granted the Freedom of the Company and known as Freemen. Freedom of the Company may be achieved by Patrimony, Patrimonial Redemption, Redemption or by Presentation, and is subject to the payment of appropriate Fines and/or Fees. The Freedom of the Company entitles a Freeman (male or female) to apply for the Freedom of the City of London, which is the next step to election as a Liveryman.
