The present Hall, situated in Throgmorton Street, was bought from King Henry VIII in 1543. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666, rebuilt and later partially destroyed, again by fire, in 1772 and rebuilt. During the nineteenth century it was new fronted and alterations were made to the interior. Little damage was suffered during the Second World War. |
