The Livery Hall was altered in the late 19th century when the ceiling and upper parts of the room were redesigned by Sir Thomas Jackson, chiefly to improve acoustics and light. The alterations did not interfere with the twenty-eight marble columns which provide ideal spaces for the display of the Companys collection of royal portraits including King William III by Sir Godfrey Kneller. George III by Sir Nathanial Dance and George IV by Sir Thomas Lawrence.
It can be used for all types of events, from dinners to concerts and cocktail parties to formal lunches.
