Letters Patent
The first Charter was granted to the Drapers’ Company by Edward III in 1364. The Charter of Incorporation was granted by Henry VI in 1438. Charters, successively confirming the above, were granted by Edward IV and Elizabeth I in 1466 and 1560 respectively.

An entirely new Charter was granted by James I in 1607 wholly reincorporating the Company by the title of The Master and Wardens and Brethren and Sisters of the Guild or Fraternity of the Blessed Mary the Virgin of the Mystery of Drapers of the City of London. This is the governing Charter of the Company. 
 
Supplemental Charters on points of detail were granted by Queen Victoria in 1893, King Edward VIII in 1936 and Queen Elizabeth II in 1954.  The occasion of the celebration of the sexcentenary of the first Charter was signalized by a Supplemental Charter. 
 
A fourth Supplemental Charter, was granted by Her Majesty in 2008.
