The Estate
 
Walter’s Close in Brandon Street, off the Walworth Road was built in two stages in 1961 and 1971 for the poor elderly people of Southwark.
 
The Estate consists of 29 one-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom flats and 7 studios, all self contained.
 
The picturesque Estate offers excellent communal facilities including a Community Hall and a laundry. The properties are centred on two courtyards with well-maintained and attractive gardens. There is an active social club, organized by the residents, providing a range of activities and outings.
 
Eligibility
You can apply to live at Walter’s Close if you are 65 years of age or over, currently live in the London Borough of Southwark, have limited financial means and a real housing need.  Applicants will be asked to provide details of their financial circumstances to demonstrate their need for such accommodation
