The Almshouse Charities

The Drapers’ Company acts as Trustee of three London based Almshouse Trusts:

• Edmanson Jolles and Pemel’s Almshouse Charity
  - Edmanson’s Close in Bruce Grove, Tottenham
  
  
• Queen Elizabeth’s College
  - Queen Elizabeth’s College and Lambard House in Greenwich High Road, Greenwich
  
  
• John Walter’s and Ann Mills’ Foundation
  - Walter’s Close in Brandon Street, Southwark.
  

The Management of the Almshouses
Hanover Housing Association is responsible for the management of the Almshouses on behalf of the Company. At each Almshouse there is a full-time Estate Manager who is available to offer support to the residents and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the estate. Each unit within the Almshouses is equipped with an intercom alarm system.

Charges
Residents pay a Weekly Maintenance Contribution and a Service Charge to cover the provision of central heating, landscaping of the gardens, lighting to the communal areas and the administration of the Emergency Call System. Residents are directly responsible for payment of their own utility accounts and personal bills such as Council Tax and home contents insurance.
