The Drapers’ Company is trustee of nine grant making trusts. Six of these are discretionary trusts where the Trustee exercises its discretion in the award of grants within the objects of the Trusts. The Company welcomes applications to three of the discretionary grant making trusts, The Drapers’ Charitable Fund, Sir William Boreman’s Foundation and Thomas Howell’s Education Fund for North Wales. To find out more about the grant making themes and criteria, and details of how to apply for funding from each of these trusts, click on the Charities’ link. Alternatively, if applying for a grant from The Drapers’ Charitable Fund click on Applying for a Grant. Funds from the other three discretionary trusts are largely committed annually in advance in accordance with the wishes of the original benefactors.
The remaining three trusts are restricted trusts where grants are awarded, or net income distributed, in accordance with the precise objects of the Trust Schemes, reflecting the original intentions of the benefactors.
